Shadow Mountains

The Shadow Mountains are a chain of high peaks that stretch north from the Duchy of Elebron along the border of the provinces of Meadshire and Gwill in the Kingdom of Evenhold, the southern portion of a larger range that continues north as the Voormithadreth Mountains.

Though one of the smaller ranges in Addar, the steepness of its sharp peaks nevertheless makes travel across it very difficult and only two known passes cross it. The southern is the Stair of Karathas, a narrow and winding path about 20 miles north of Behlos City suitable for hiking but impractical for horses and wagons. The northern, Brumecleft Pass, is an actual road that snakes through the high valleys and is the main route connecting Gwill and the Far Riding to areas west of the range. Many travelers and traders avoid the mountain crossing entirely and take the easier route through Elebron and along the Dreamless Sea.

Extending deep into the mountains are the Fellspawn Caverns, a vast network of tunnels and chambers. One known entrance lies near the Karathas Pass.
