Concealed near the heart of the sprawling Marewood Forest lies the entrance to a set of natural caverns and ancient mines, smoothed and converted in the mid-fifth century YA to serve as the secret tomb of Evron, first wizard-king of Evenhold. Deliberately hidden to guard against grave-robbers, the site was nevertheless discovered by treasure-hunters and partially raided multiple times in subsequent centuries, though magical wards and protections proved effective in keeping the most valuable relics out of thieves' hands — and may have led to the untimely demise of the thieves themselves.
It was only after recent tree-clearing in the area uncovered the tomb's entrance that its location has became generally known, but fears of magical traps and other dangers within have so far prevented the site from being thoroughly explored.
