Sicilia

The Kingdom of Sicilia (🔊) is a landlocked nation in the plains of central Addar that borders a number of other realms including the Kingdom of Evenhold.

Sicilia is a longtime enemy of Evenhold's and the two have fought several minor and inconclusive wars over the centuries, though hostilities are more often limited to border skirmishes, proxy battles, and espionage. Sicilia's enmity for Evenhold has its source in the War of Anharic Succession (194–201 YA) which ended with the exiling of both claimants to the throne of Evenhold. The male heir with his loyalists established the House of Charlast and vowed that his line would one day regain the throne.

The kingdom's attention has recently turned away from Evenhold to the more urgent and immediate threat posed by the Darklord Skeleus, whose forces have begun to push into the kingdom's southeastern territory under the cover of the Shadow Wall.

The current monarchs of Sicilia are King Charles and Queen Alexandra. Though both Sicilians and Evenholders share the Common tongue, Sicilia has its own dialect (Sicilian) that can be difficult for those untrained in it to understand.
