The Kingdom of the Sister Mountains lies in the passes and valleys of the northern Horn Belt, a region called the Sister Mountains after the seven "sisters" — a group of high, snow-capped peaks that overlook the surrounding lands.
Long ruled by the House of Sagamore, the kingdom has struggled against incursions by neighboring warlords, one of the most belligerent being the rogue Gorm warlord Galen Dracos. Another more mysterious warlord known simply as "the Master" has built and occupied a fortress in a mountain just beyond the kingdom's northeastern borders and regularly sends raiding parties into the valleys below.
The aged King Kadmis Sagamore, current ruler of the Sister Mountains, has in recent decades used his considerable skills as a sorcerer and necromancer to raise a batallion of skeletal knights to help defend against such attacks. The warriors of Larboria to the east also help keep the nearby barbarians in check.
