Dark Forest

Not to be confused with the much larger and more distant forest known as the Darkwoods in the province of Baronia, this wooded area lies along the border of Evenshire and Frukendorf near the Malphigian coast just west of Evenhold.

The easternmost arm of the woodland, enclosed by a bend of the Westsong River, is known as the "Beginners Forest" and is operated by the Guild of Free Adventurers in Evenhold as a training area for its members. Elmendor, a settlement of elves from beyond the Great Mountains, stands on a ridge near the northern edge of the forest, while a castle inhabited by the reclusive mage Merlin stands in the south.
