Carnivorous Forest

The Carnivorous Forest is a vast, dark woodland in the northeastern quarter of Addar that stretches south and east across the broad valleys and foothills of the Black Mountains. Hidden among its millions of innocuous trees are many monstrous, animated ones capable of sudden movements of their branches and roots, infamous for snatching passing people or animals and devouring them with mouths in their trunks. Most such trees resemble oaks, though parties have reported harrowing encounters with carnivorous beeches, yews, and others. Wood from the forest is prized for its strength and quality but is rare due both to the great dangers inherent in harvesting it and to its remote location far from major settlements.

The forest is bordered on the northeast by the tribes of Perrenor, on the east by the small kingdom of Agorrum, and on the west by Sicilia, but none lay claim to it. The arch-wizard Mevtrelek lives in an isolated castle deep in the forest, normally teleporting directly in and out.
