The zodiac is the path across Eamon's sky that the sun traces over the course of a year. The constellations that lie along this path are the signs of the zodiac, and Eamonites have long believed that the movement of Great Eldur and other bodies across these signs can influence events and shape destinies.
The cultures of central Addar divide the zodiac into four quarters (called stations or turns), each consisting of three separate signs. Astrologers liken the progression through the twelve signs as a journey, with the three signs in each station representing a location, a traveler, and an encounter with a being or creature. Below are the signs in order, with the approximate days they begin and end:

All the major bodies in the Domains of Eldur travel within the belt of the zodiac except for Little Eldur which because of its inclination spends only about half of its 2,300-year orbit within the zodiac. The rest of the time it moves across other constellations above or below the belt. Astrologers refer to Little Eldur's path through the sky as the dark zodiac.
The three moons of Eamon also travel above and below the zodiac, owing to their alignment with the plane of Eamon's equator which is inclined relative to the ecliptic. The moons normally cross the zodiac through Caravanserai (when traveling toward the southern skies) and Tirtha (when going north).
