The aptly-named Mountains of Anguish are a grey and inhospitable realm, darkened both by the shadow of the vast Floating Island that hangs above it to the east and by the storms and thick clouds that perpetually brew around the island's perimeter. Each day the western end of the range remains in a dusky twilight until the early afternoon, while the eastern end overhung by the island is constantly shrouded in near total darkness.
The peak of Mount Errek in the shadow-locked eastern range is the point on Eamon's surface that comes closest to the island, rising to within just a few hundred feet of its jagged underside.
