The Kingdom of Kzorland (🔊) is a dangerous realm that straddles the foothills at the southern end of the Great Mountains, stretching east toward Trillium and the Grimlor Range and west across the wide, dry plains toward Tanjid and the lands of the Darklords.
The land is notorious for the teams of slavers who prowl the kingdom's borders and sometimes beyond, capturing unwary travelers and pressing them into service in the Western Mines — more commonly known as the Slave Pits of Kzorland. Those snared by the slavers must pay a ransom to the crown for their freedom, or else must work an arbitrary term of hard labor. (Anyone venturing through the kingdom is advised to travel with a well-armed group.)
The mines produce copious amounts of metal ore, a commodity the kingdom's rulers have been obsessed with obtaining over the last century due to outbreaks of metal-eating pests known as kzorks.
Kzorland has so far resisted encroachment by the expansionist Ilvithri to their west, and maintains cool but peaceful relations with Tanjid. Trillium and Agimen resent the slavers' disrespect for their borders and have stepped up their own patrols to protect their citizens.
The current monarch is the obese and irritable King Irizin.
