Krovyn Mawr, better known in the guild as "the Warlord", may be the second most intimidating figure in the Main Hall after the burly Irishman. Though less physically imposing than the beadle, his quiet and piercingly observant demeanor eerily gives the impression of a snake gauging when to strike.

Though he rarely discusses his past, it's well known that began as a member of the Guild of Free Adventurers, then became a mercenary commander who ran a small but highly successful company of fighters. The group participated in several conflicts across central Addar, and though praised for their determination and prowess, it was the Warlord's own ability to magically summon supporting fighters than earned the most renown. Whether saturating a battlefield with summoned creatures or breaking lines with huge planar entities, his prowess and creativity with the craft was unparalleled.

For reasons unknown he disbanded his company in 1186, retired from active soldiering, and returned to the guild to serve as an advisor and mage, second only in magical skill to senior wizard Hokas Tokas himself. One of his responsibilities is administering the Beginners Cave, a training area for new recruits south of Evenhold that now runs on an ingenious system of magical conjuration that the Warlord devised.
