Kalos

Kalos is a fallen human kingdom west of the Great Mountains of Addar.

For over a millennium the Kalosans inhabited the wooded hills and valleys in the mountains' shadow, governed by honorable kings and guided by the priests and clerics of their ancient religion, but when the neighboring land of Cyrak fell to the invading Ilvithri in 900 YA the kingdom's days were numbered.

A plague-like affliction known as the Curse of Talon spread from fallen Cyrak, and though it didn't decimate the population — thanks, the priests claimed, to the blessing of their gods — it forced the land into isolation. After consolidating their gains to the south, the Ilvithri marched on Kalos and ultimately overran it in 1080. The king, his surviving forces, and the religion's priesthood fled north to a remote temple in the mountains, but they were soon discovered and slaughtered by the forces of the Darklords.

Like the Cyrakians before them, the survivors of Kalos made the difficult trek across the Great Mountains and now live in exile in the east, many in the New Kingdom and Evenhold. They work to keep their culture alive and hope one day to retake their homeland.
