The Ilvithri (🔊), commonly known outside their lands as the Darklords or sometimes the Storm Wizards, are an aggressive and expansionist society that dominate southwestern Addar. The name specifically refers to the small ruling caste of dark magical sorcerers who wield absolute power within their domains, commanding great armies of warriors and laborers in their endless campaigns of conquest.
The Ilvithri's origins are a secret known only to the Darklords themselves, but it's certain they've been a force in Eamon since at least the fall of the Old Empires, and they may trace their origins back even farther to the corrupting magics of the Great Old Ones during the Ages of Ruin.
For at least the past millennium the Darklords have been stymied in their expansion westward by the united might of the Elf Lands, but have conquered several adjacent humans realms including Cyrak in 900 YA and Kalos in 1080, and may soon attempt to cross east over the Great Mountains.
The infamous Skeleus — commonly known as the Darklord — was once one of the mightiest of the Ilvithri but was exiled by his fellow sorcerers and now pursues a solitary mission of conquest and vengeance in southern Addar.
