The Far Riding is a sparsely-inhabited border march of the Kingdom of Evenhold, located north of the Dreamless Sea and bounded on the east by the Broken Neck and the hostile kingdom of Sicilia. Its northern boundary with the Barbarian Lands is ill-defined and the towns of Oigres, Elans, and Arbor Fell must always be on guard against attacks by raiders.
The Arcosian Swamp and the meandering Arcos River cross the southwestern portion of the march. The area south of the Arcos is the most populous and is the site of Knarwich, the largest settlement in the Far Riding, along with several surrounding villages of humans and halflings.
