The citizens of the city of Duron on the island of Braegor enjoy an impressive natural defense, sheltered behind the high, wall-like mountains that tower along the island's western edge. The city fills a series of small, step-like plateaus that from the east are accessible only through a single long tunnel that stretches beneath the peaks. To the west the terraces descend steeply to the sea where sailing vessels from Tanjid, Agimen, Trillium, Dorier, Evenhold, and elsewhere dock at the long stone quay.
Duron's narrow streets are lined with beautiful buildings of white stone, the largest of which is the palace of the Duronian royal family.
