Dorier expands Historical event in c. 1080 (120 years ago)
Dorier begins to expand its territory southward.
Sam Ruby's The Boy and the Bard begins with this description of the setting: "The small country town is located far in the south, originally an outpost along the great road that comes from the north. The town became somewhat isolated since expansion of the Northern Empire was never completed. Few Northmen come this far south anymore."
The "Northern Empire" here is Dorier, whose rulers in a period of expansionist zeal stretched the kingdom's borders deep into the wide and sparsely-populated plains south of its main territory. They later found holding and maintaining the territory difficult and costly, particularly given the growing threat posed by the Darklord (who mounts a devastating attack on Dorier's capital in Eye of Agamon ). The town in Ruby's adventure is near the southern extreme of Dorier's expanded territory.
