A day is a fundamental unit for measuring time both on Eamon and many other worlds and is a basic building block of most calendars.
One calendar day (also called a civil day or solar day) represents the time it takes for Eamon to make one full rotation relative to Great Eldur, usually measured from midnight to midnight. Likewise, a day on Earth is one full rotation relative to Sol.
Many known, inhabited worlds including Eamon, Earth, Oerth, Athas, Toril, and others all have days of exactly the same length, a consistency that puzzles scholars and which remains unexplained. A handful vary: Mystara's day is longer (26 standard hours) while Midkemia's is shorter (20 hours).
Days are commonly divided into watches.
