The Cycle of Ruin was the repeated cycle of cataclysmic events known as Ruins that dominated the early history of the world of Eamon. Every 2,300 years the Great Old Ones would awaken from their slumber and drive the world's evil and undead creatures into a frenzy of destruction, decimating Eamon's early peoples and stifling the rise of advanced civilization. The first recorded ruin occurred around 18,800 BA but the cycle likely began much earlier.
The Cycle was interrupted in 2704 BA by the Talus Assembly, and was ultimately broken in 1 YA when the Great Old Ones were driven from the world by the Alaxar pantheon during the Great Battle of Darkness.
