From his base in the Eastern Mountains of Addar, the mysterious human warlord known only as the Clone Master directs military campaigns against the surrounding nations and asserts his growing dominance on both land and sea.
His presence was first felt in 1190 YA when vessels traversing the Knieriem sealane began to report encounters with pirate ships that shot fire and lightning from strange weapons, and which were manned by identical-looking sailors. Similar forces soon appeared on land, raiding towns in southern Knieriem and destroying outposts along the coast. The forces quickly became a scourge to the eastern kingdoms, disrupting trade, taking lives, and threatening the very existence of nations.
From the little information gleaned by spies, it seems the Clone Master's forces are comprised of countless duplicates of just a handful of individuals, created not by magic but through some unfathomable technology. A fortress near the straits between the continent and the East Archipelago is his apparent headquarters, and presumably the site of his cloning operation.
The origins of the Clone Master and his technology remain shrouded in mystery, but his scientific brilliance and desire to conquer are abundantly clear.
