Braegor (🔊), the largest island in the northern Sea of Dreams, is a land of scattered settlements mostly located around its coast, the largest being the mountain stronghold of Duron. Nestled in a set of terraced plateaus tucked behind the wall-like western peaks, Duron is a nearly impregnible citadel and the de facto capital of the island, though the ruling family officially controls only the city and its immediate vicinity. The remainder of the island is the Protectorate of Duron, with the communities of Port Bax, Ragodon, Kaii, Gloston, and others enjoying a considerable degree of self-rule in exchange for recognizing the suzerainty of the Duronian monarch.

Physically the island is a broad, foot-shaped slab, rising from the low plains of the east into the forests, gentle hills, and broad valleys of the middle island, and finally ending on the western coast with a wall of sharply upthrust mountains. Smaller scattered islands lie offshore to the east, west, and north. Two small rivers, the Borg and the Lehoy, flow south to the sea.
