Individuals who achieve a high degree of proficiency with arcane magic through study and practice are usually known either as wizards (men) or witches (women).
Witches and wizards are distinguished from those who have an inherent connection to arcane magic (sorcerers and sorceresses), and from those who channel divine magic (like clerics and druids).
One of the best known wizards in Evenhold is Hokas Tokas, the resident senior wizard of the Guild of Free Adventurers. Other well-known practitioners range from the ancient Wizard-Kings to contemporary master wizards like Xandar and Trezore.
