The Veil is a dusty disk of material that circles close to star Great Eldur. The planet Hearth, innermost world in the Domains of Eldur, marks its outer boundary and acts as its shepherd.
The ring (really a flattened torus) is composed of countless tiny grains of dust and dark material, either the remains of some mini-world that shattered eons ago or leftover primordial material that never formed into a world at all. A handful of tiny, scattered asteroids known as the Embers trace paths through the dust.
Disappearing in Eldur's glare, the Veil is invisible during the day, but appears at twilight as a soft glowing band, visible near the horizon before dawn and after sunset.
