Tritons are one of the most rarely encountered races on Eamon, dwelling almost exclusively in the darkest depths of the ocean. Even the sea-dwelling merfolk, who inhabit the shallower and sunnier waters of Eamon, have few interactions with them.
Unlike merfolk, tritons have legs and are generally humanoid, though with scales, gills, and webbed appendages. Their skin color is usually a bluish hue, but can range from teal to indigo. Thought to originate from the Elemental Plane of Water, tritons act as the guardians of the deep sea, hunting ancient creatures from the Ages of Ruin that still lurk in the sunless depths.
