The lake of Tirnmere (🔊) in eastern Evenshire lies just south of the Great East Road, from which travelers are afforded a memorable view both of the broad, silvery waters and of the crumbling but imposing Tirnmere Fortress which stands on a rocky islet. The Volber River flows out of the lake through breaks in the cliffs that border the western shore.
