This adventure takes place in the Barony of Horn, part of the Northern Michigan area of the contemporary United States. You and three other fearless Free Adventurers have gathered from far around, hoping for news about the mysterious "Golden Marauders."
Upon the request of the Mayor of Horn, one Hubert Frump, your party visits the mayor at his estate, where he then promises you that if you learn anything of significance in this venture, that he will pay you for your information, as well as let you take the items that you find while working for him. When you accept, he hands you over to this trusted advisor, Squire Briik, who then tells you the story of these strange golden warriors...
