The Seventh Ruin was the seventh occurrence of the Cycle of Ruin, and the last one to bring widespread destruction to the world. It peaked in the year 5004 BA.
In west-central Addar the book-hoard of Jorinnen, a massive repository of learning accumulated over previous millennia, was saved from destruction through the use of god-given weapons and clever magical protections, provided by skilled mages from Ishvatur (which also survived). The knowledge preserved at Jorinnen — including research into the nature and source of the Ruin — allowed Addaran civilization to recover more quickly and fueled the rise of the Old Empires.
