When a king or queen accedes to the throne of the Kingdom of Evenhold, it's customary for them to choose a "regnal name" which may be different from their original name.
The practice dates back more than a millennium but has been applied inconsistently: the Wizard-Kings ruled using their given names, and recent monarchs (despite choosing regnal names) have ruled using their given names.
