Railroads are a new technology to Eamon, one that has the potential to profoundly affect travel and culture across the entire continent of Addar.
Engineers in Knieriem in Southeastern Addar were the first to pioneer the development of steam-powered rail travel more than a century ago, building lines to connect the nation's ports with their growing industrial centers. Since Knieriem was culturally and geographically isolated, the technology was slow to spread beyond their borders, but the rise in recent years of greater diplomacy and trade with Evenhold and other central Addaran nations has allowed the principles of steam-power and railroad-building to spread.
The experimental Evenhold Railroad is the first new line outside of Knieriem and blends their mechanical techniques with engineering knowledge gleaned from Earth.
