The Protectorate of Duron encompasses the entire territory of the island of Braegor outside the city of Duron, including the settlements of Port Bax, Kaii, Ragodon, and Gloston, as well as various smaller villages and hamlets. The populace is mostly human, though dwarf clans inhabit the mountainous regions and halfings live in small pockets across the island.
While not officially the realm of the Duronian monarch, the inhabitants of the territory make tributes to Duron and recognize the king's suzerainty in exchange for the king granting them considerable self-rule and the protection of his knights and ships. This arrangement has kept the island peaceful and orderly for centuries, but lately has been strained by the rise of the Brotherhood of the Darklord whose aim is to bring the island under the sway of the Darklord Skeleus.
