Within the Multiverse are many planes of existence, some quite familiar and conducive to the flourishing of mortal beings, others incomprehensible and wildly hostile to any known form of life.
Eamon, Earth, the Silvern River, and the surrounding visible universe are all situated in the Prime Material Plane. "Parallel" material planes lie adjacent to it, realms that tend to share similar laws, cosmology, and geography, and which occasionally connect to the Prime Material Plane through rifts. Those that exist as close reflections of the Prime Material Plane include the Diurlan, Zagoran, and Amaranthine planes, each of which hosts a world very similar to Eamon. The magic-dominated plane of Faerie is also adjacent.
Farther removed are the Elemental Planes (or Inner Planes), home to the fundamental creative energies from which the Material Planes are built. More distant still are the Outer Planes, exotic realms about which even the most experienced mages of Eamon have only the barest knowledge.
