For many years the Kingdom of the Cyrakian Princes west of the Great Mountains had resisted the encroachment of the Dark Lords known as the Ilvithri, but in 900 YA the land finally fell to the invaders and the surviving population were driven into exile.

Many fled east across the mountains, settling in the peaceful and sparsely inhabited plains west of Evenhold along the Grace and Tofra rivers. There they established the New Kingdom, and after three centuries it's now a flourishing nation.

The kingdom's capital and cultural center is Kingscourt on the western shore of the Great Lake; to the south lies the bustling Tradetown, and to the west the quiet agricultural community of Agroville. The eastern fortress of Iron Castle guards the road into the Kingdom of Evenhold. Shrine City, a religious site that predates the kingdom, lies near the southern border.

The kingdom works to maintain peaceful relations with its surrounding neighbors, but lives in shadow of its violent past, and in fear that the Dark Lords will someday follow them across the Great Mountains.
