The Iron Sea lies within the distant, horseshoe-shaped continent of Karune. It opens eastward into the wider ocean, but otherwise is surrounded Karune's inner coasts. The sea is named for the unusually rich deposits of iron found throughout the continent.
A race of intelligent horseshoe crabs lives in the sea's shallow coastal waters.
