The mountains of the Horn Belt stretch north from the border of Evenhold, dividing the Davelmar Forest and the Northern Reaches from Larboria and the Barbarian Lands to the east.
The southern foothills of the range begin north of the towns of Oigres and Elans and quickly rise into a rugged area known locally as the Mountains of Chakaal, the domain of the legendary Amazon warrior. The range's eastern slopes and foothills are ruled by warring barbarian clans, while the western slopes, blanketed in dense forest, are only sparsely populated. At its north end the range breaks into a chain of peaks and passes known as the Sister Mountains, home to a small kingdom.
Archaeologists working in the vicinity of Mount Everdes, an extinct volcano in the southern portion of the range, have recently discovered an ancient mining complex and are planning an expedition to investigate.
