The Great Rain of Fire was a cataclysmic event that occurred on the distant world of Mystara but was felt or detected across much of the cosmos.
The technologically advanced civilization of Blackmoor on the continent of Skothar detonated an incomprehensibly powerful device, releasing a blast of energy so great that it annihilated Blackmoor, knocked Mystara off its axis, and spread devastation across the globe.
The impact was immediately felt on Eamon as fire and burning debris shot through the recently formed rift between Skothar and Addar, incinerating everything in the vicinity and causing fires throughout the surrounding valley. Great waves of arcane magical energy also crashed through the rift, powerful enough to be felt by mages across the globe and causing strange magical effects and disruptions reported hundreds of miles from the blast.
The event was immediately studied by the Talus Assembly and its energies meticulously measured. The knowledge they gleaned from the event and its effects on Eamon filled vital gaps in the assembly's research.
