Flagstop is a minor settlement in the Kingdom of Evenhold, established in 1197 YA during the construction of the Evenhold Railroad line between Mudville and Southport. Royal engineers erected temporary housing at what was then the end of the line for the use of laborers working to extend the route through a section of rough terrain west of Yomber Forest, and upon its completion the buildings and the railway platform remained to form a small hamlet. A converted storehouse near the platform now acts as a museum, displaying a collection of artifacts and mementos from the railroad's construction. Despite the town's name, the train makes a brief scheduled stop each day in the village.
The site is near a secluded ocean cove known to locals as an excellent spot for harvesting mussels and crabs. Fishermen on several occasions have also reported seeing merfolk swimming and hunting in the cove, suggesting a settlement might lie somewhere below the coastal waters nearby.
