Fireworms are burrowing creatures that inhabit remote parts of Eamon, most often in places where magma comes close to the surface: volcanoes, calderas, and hot springs.
The worms are legless and segmented, with small but steel-hard mandibles capable of chewing through solid rock. Most grow to about 10 feet in length. Though they don't go out of their way to attack passers-by, they respond aggressively to any interference by spitting short, intense blasts of fire. Their segmented bodies glow like coals for a few moments before they spit, a helpful warning for anyone nearby.
