You are on the outskirts of Pewter City, a rugged mountain town. The only way to the next town, Cerulean City, is through the mysterious Mt. Moon. You are standing in the entrance of the cave, with east/west openings. South leads back.

You see a flashlight resting on the floor of the cavern, probably left by earlier explorers of Mt. Moon.
