Hidden deep among the soaring peaks of the Great Mountains of Addar lies the Crystal Kingdom, a tiny domain so remote and isolated that some in Evenhold consider it a legend. The nation occupies a complex network of caverns, tunnels, and carved chambers that run through Crystal Mountain, a peak rich in rare minerals and crystal formations, and lays claim to the surrounding valleys.
The ruling monarch carries the title of Zircon ("Master of the Mountain and All That Surrounds") and is served by a prime minister, but little else is known of the ruling family or government. The mountain's population is mostly human and seemingly live almost entirely underground, emerging just to tend gardens and orchards that grow on the mountain terraces.
No one knows when the kingdom was established, but the self-sufficient society has likely occupied the mountain for millennia, gradually extending their mines and tunnels ever deeper. Though not unfriendly to the rare outsiders who occasionally stumble in, the people show no interest in trade and seem indifferent to the outside world.
