Bahyrst is an extinct settlement deep in the Davelmar Forest of northern Addar, its buildings and streets now mostly reclaimed by the surrounding wilderness.

Likely established around 500 YA, Bahyrst thrived for centuries as an agricultural community, harvesting timber from the forests and farming the many large clearings in the area. In the mid-eleventh century a boy named Jaldi'al Dhassei was born to a wealthy family in Bahyrst and, showing a natural aptitude for magic, was sent away to study spellcraft, but when his interests turned to dark and forbidden magicks he was expelled and sent home. Pursuing his craft at the family compound, he gained a small following of loyal acolytes who helped him with his work, but one day his experiments turned deadly when most of the town's inhabitants disappeared, blasted — intentionally or otherwise — into the Void.

The enraged survivors stormed the Dhassei compound and killed Jaldi'al, burying him in the town cemetery before abandoning Bahyrst forever in 1099. The cemetery is now the only remaining monument to the lost community.
