Athas is a harsh desert world far from Eamon but connected to it through occasional rifts. A powerful magic practiced on Athas that works by draining the energy from living things has resulted in the collapse of its ecology, leaving the world barely habitable and its civilizations crumbling.
Athas orbits the Crimson Sun within a region known as Athasspace.
