Aevinn (🔊) was a kingdom of ancient Eamon that flourished in the Malphigian Basin on the continent of Addar in the centuries leading up to the Great Battle of Darkness.
Organized by the soldier-scholar Domnhall in 515 BA through the union of several maritime city-states, the kingdom occupied what are now the central shires of the Kingdom of Evenhold along the shores of the Malphigian Sea, an area roughly centered on what today is the city of Evenhold. Its formation was part of a wave of defensive consolidations and alliances leading up to the expected Ninth Ruin, and its early decades were dominated by the construction of scores of fortifications across its territory. Aevinn was also the first kingdom to adopt the worship of the newly-discovered Alaxaran Pantheon as its state religion, and in 414 drew throngs of pilgrims when it dedicated the grand Temple of Alaxar.
Aevinn's final king, Anharos, ascended to the throne in 12 BA. Strong and pure of heart, he was much favored by the gods, and when the Great Old Ones erupted in 1 BA it was Anharos who rallied the lands of Addar against the ancient enemies. Following his victory in the Great Battle, Anharos oversaw the union of the Kingdom of Aevinn with its neighboring allies to form the united Kingdom of Evenhold.
Aevinn persists as a term for the historic central shires of Evenhold, and the Aevinn Range still bears the kingdom's name.
