Addar

The continent of Addar (🔊), also known as the Continent of the Great Houses, is one of seven known continents on the world of Eamon and is filled with wide expanses of untamed wilderness, numerous nations and civilizations, and inhabitants of many races. The Kingdom of Evenhold, home of the storied Guild of Free Adventurers, is located in central Addar.

Ocean surrounds Addar on all sides. The Magic Seas to the east are the most poorly understood by the scholars of Evenhold, and ancient maps suggest that the hourglass-shaped continent of Orashta lies beyond them, a land thought to be ruled by powerful practitioners of magic. The Silver Seas border Addar to the south, narrowing to small straits and channels where the islands of southeastern Addar mingle with the northern lands of the tropical supercontinent of Ja'gala. The Sea of Death lies west, separating Addar from the continents of Veldith and Tyrna, and the frigid Cold Seas stretch toward the pole and east to Northland. The Floating Island, a strange airborne landmass thought to come from another world, floats above the northeastern corner of the continent.
