Upon retiring from the guild in 1171 YA, the wealthy adventuring partners Ladies Sybil Scarfell and Agatha Alderstaff purchased Aardlin Castle, a circular stone keep in the countryside of eastern Evenshire, and converted the restored building into a training center for aspiring adventurers. Christening it the "Castle of Doom", the ladies drew on their magical prowess to keep it stocked with a variety of summoned creatures, and on their experience as dungeon-raiders to devise various clever traps and puzzles for visitors to solve. The ladies themselves settled into a comfortable nearby cottage and for years have enjoyed a quiet retirement.
Reports from recent visitors suggest that more real and unintended dangers have lately begun to appear in and around the castle, and that the now elderly owners may not be keeping as close an eye on their operation as they should. Patrons wishing to venture into the castle do so at their own risk.
